You've Got to Fight For Your Right to Data Privacy!
Picture this: you visited a friend who just had a baby and now ads for pregnancy tests, baby accessories and nappies are flooding all of your devices. Are you creeped out? Annoyed? Concerned? You should be.
The Beastie Boys sure had it right when they said You've Got to Fight For Your Right to Data Privacy. Our private data is constantly being traded for everything from product marketing to major political campaigns and it's time to start protecting ourselves online. But for many of us the mere thought of quitting the online world gives us palpitations.
Straight from her sold out gig at Raising The Bar, Swinburne's very own Dr Belinda Barnet (Senior Lecturer in Media and Communications and online Trump haranguer) gets hands on to show us how to start the fight.
